Unemployed or starting a business?

When C became unemployed she decided to use her existing skills and knowledge and open a local retail shop. Though she was able to use existing family owned premises there was quite a financial commitment to refurbish the buildings and install necessary equipment and purchase stock. Fearing that the project would not come to fruition C approached an Adviser at BSYNY to source funding. She was able to successfully apply for a low interest, unsecured loan through a loan fund aimed at helping new business establish & develop. Within a short period her application was checked, presented and approved. C felt it really was a great opportunity to raise money on a basis that could not be matched commercially. Now she is open for business and has had her first customers and is thrilled at the response. Her Business Adviser identified funding at a time when conventional borrowing was difficult to source. Not only that, it was at a very attractive interest rate.  C’s Adviser noted that she demonstrated the enthusiasm and commitment together with good business knowledge and is delighted to have been able to help realise her dream. C now participates in a Mentoring scheme that will provide support for her and her business into the future.
